 MY REVIEW OF BLOOD & WATER SEASON ONE

Hello, viewers. Ok. So, I watched and finished the first season of Blood & Water, and I think it's a pretty, sweet teen mystery series that deserves much more hype. I'm personally not a fan of teen drama like Riverdale, or Pretty Little Liars, but there are several things that intrigued me about this show; From my Pov, I'll state what I thought of it all here. 

Positives:

THE MYSTERY WAS ALRIGHT

This show, if you haven't heard, follows sixteen-year-old teenager Puleng, who moves into an elite school because she is certain that a student over there named Filike is in fact the sister that her parents say was abducted from them at childbirth and sold to a sex-trafficking ring. With this premise, I was hooked and wanted to find out how Puleng would find her answers. From the first half of the six episodes, we get to see why she is eager to find evidence to prove Filike is the one, and that happens when (SPOILERS)her father gets arrested when the police case is reopened. Of course, forces were at work to ensure she wasn't sticking her nose into the business. The mystery aspect of the show was mixed perfectly with that of a little bit of light-hearted, teen humor, creating a wonderful tone for the show.

THE DRAMA

Another positive was, surprisingly, the teen drama. As I've said, I'm not a fan of this type of genre but in this show, the characters were written and portrayed in such a way that I actually cared and was curious to how things would work out for them. (SPOILERS)I loved the teacher-student cheating romance storyline. Filike having an affair with the married swim coach, Chad, whose wife was pregnant. This made me hate Chad and feel so bad for her. I liked the "love-triangle" between Puleng, her love interest KB, and her close friend Wade. Honestly, I did not see what characteristic about KB made Puleng attracted to him. I thought Wade would be a better boyfriend for Puleng. 

GAIL MABALANE 😍😍

Another positive for this show was this beautiful actress right here. Gail is DAMN FINE. I loved her performance in this show as Puleng's mother, Thadeka Khumalo. I was very suspicious of her in the first three episodes. I loved Gail in the miniseries, Unseen. If you haven't seen it, I recommend it, it was pretty dope. She played a dangerous woman on the run. She's beautiful, talented and a sexy Milf, I definitely want to check out her other films and TV works. 

That's my review. I'm going to check out Season 2 and give my opinions on that too. This is a cool mystery, crime thriller for Young Adults and Adults as well. Go check it out on Netflix!
